Driver CPC Initial Training and obtain the category C or D license All potential professional drivers (bus/minibus/coach or truck) will need to pass Initial Qualification Tests, which will assess their knowledge and skills around the areas outlined in the Directive (the Professional Drivers Qualifier Act DIRECTIVE 2003/59/EC). It is expected to use RSA approved Training Centres how deliver training to these individuals to assist them in passing the tests required to attain a Driver CPC. To become a professional driver and successfully gain the Driver CPC a new driver must; apply for a Category C1, C, D1 or D learners permit, if you hold a driving licence for category B and for EB, EC1, EC, ED1 or ED, if you hold a driving licence for the appropriate drawing vehicle.
